what's the smallest number divisible by both 4 and 6?
12
But that does not solve the problem. What is the date 12 school days after Sept.5?
12 school days is 2 weeks + 2 days. So, if 9/5 is M-W, you will only have two weekends to count. If it's Thu or Fri, you have a 3rd weekend to include.
And what about Labor Day?

Now, if you had said "earliest possible" date, then we'd have 9/21.

The answer is 17. Cheerleading is every 4 days so it starts on the 5th day which would be 5, 9,13,17
The play is every 6 days so it would be 5, 11,17. So she would have to choose on the 17th

The answer the Sep. 17
Explanation:
1. First we have the first days she goes to her practices (4 and 6)
2. Now we need to find the least common factor of 4 and 6
4: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28
6: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30
Do you see the least common factor?
Now we have the number 12, BUT also in the problem they gave us another date. Sep. 5, now you can assume we can add 12 to Sep 5 to get our finale answer.
(12+5=)
And there you go, hope this helps!
