2. 6x + 29 = 5

3. Combine like terms

2. factor out the x
3. multiply or divide to get x all alone

x/4 + 1 = -5
x/4 = -6
x = -24

6x + 29 = 5
6x = -24
x = -4

-21a + 16a
(-21+16)a
-5a
