A puncture in the tubing of a refrigerator can cause severe frosbite as chloroethane C2H5Cl, vaporizes. Use this thermochemical equation to calculate the heat absprbed when 23.6g of chloroethane vaporizes at its boiling point (9.66kj)
C2H5Cl(liquid) + 26.4kj arrow C2H5Cl(gas).

You took care of one of my questions. The other is what's the difference between the 9.66 kJ and the 26.4 kJ.
The equation says that 26.4 kJ heat is absorbed when converting liquid to gas and I guess that's for 1 mol. If you had no other information (like the 9.66) there I would answer
26.4 kJ x (23.6 g/molar mass C2H5Cl) = ?
But I don't know what the 9.66 is doing there.

I don't know either. I will have to ask my teacher about it. Thanks for helping :)
