I CANNOT find an answer to this anywhere in the book or online PLEASE HELP.

A circuit has 40 V and a parallel resistor with 3 100 ohm resistors in place. How much power is dissipated from the circuit?

The effective resistance is 100/3 ohms

P = E^2/R = 40^2 / (100/3) = 48 W
