If the time taken to melt 10g of ice at 0 degree Celsius is 1 minute, how long will it take to vaporize 10g of water at 100 degree celsius using the same heater? Pls show the solution clearly. Thanks

The amount of heat generated in 1 minute is 10 g*80 cal/g = 800 cal
You need 10*540 = 5400 calories to vaporize the same mass of water, at 100 C.
At the same heating rate as before, it will take 540/80 = 6.75 times longer to vaporize, or 6.75 minutes.
