What is the official name of our system of measurement in America? All
I ever hear about is the metric system, but I don't know what ours is called.

seriously, you call it the
"Imperial system of weights and measures"
used in the US and still to a smaller degree in the UK
The metric system is used pretty much everywhere else. My own country, Canada, switched over to the metric system back in 1972
