No, sorry ... C is incorrect. Be sure to read over the colon and semicolon links I sent you.

I did look in there but as I did and looked over all my options they all have a colon of some sort and the only two that made sense were C or A. So for my study guide I would answer A

Yes, A is correct. Since "dying young" is not a complete sentence in itself, no capital D is needed.

To determine the correct answer, we need to analyze the punctuation, spacing, and capitalization of each sentence.

A) There is only one alternative to growing old: dying young.
In this sentence, the colon (:) is used correctly to introduce the second part of the sentence. The sentence is properly spaced, and the words "dying young" are correctly lowercase.

B) There is only one alternative to growing old: Dying young.
Similar to option A, this sentence uses the colon (:) correctly. However, "Dying young" is incorrectly capitalized. In standard English sentence structure, only the first word of a sentence and proper nouns are capitalized.

C) There is only one alternative to growing old; Dying young.
In this sentence, a semicolon (;) is used instead of a colon (:) to connect the two parts. While semicolons can connect two independent clauses, using a colon is more appropriate in this case. Additionally, "Dying young" is incorrectly capitalized, just like in option B.

Therefore, the correct answer is A) There is only one alternative to growing old: dying young.
