Example: 5 - 2 1/3 how do you get the answer? On my example it says the answer is 2 2/3

You seem to understand this now -- judging from your later post.
5 = 4 3/3
4 3/3 - 2 1/3 = 2 2/3
5 = 4 3/3
4 3/3 - 2 1/3 = 2 2/3
