I have been trying to verify the below identity. I have been at it for hours, can anyone please help?

1+ cos(theta)/Cos(theta) = tan^2(theta)/sec(theta)-1

(1+cos)/cos = sec + 1
= (sec+1)(sec-1) / (sec-1)
= (sec^2-1)/ (sec-1)
= tan^2/(sec-1)

The clue was that sec-1 sitting there on the right side.
