If the difference is odd, one of the numbers must be even, the other odd.
So, the odd must end in 5.
12-5=7, so the even number ends in 2
we know the even number does not begin with 0, so its middle digit is 8.
10-4 = 6, but we borrowed. So,
802 - 645 = 157
So, the odd must end in 5.
12-5=7, so the even number ends in 2
we know the even number does not begin with 0, so its middle digit is 8.

802 - 645 = 157
