Ahh -- ratios and proportions are soooo useful!
7/10 = 17.5/x
Cross multiply.
7x = 10 * 17.5
Solve for x.
7x = 175
x = 175/7
x = 25
7/10 = 17.5/x
Cross multiply.
7x = 10 * 17.5
Solve for x.
7x = 175
x = 175/7
x = 25

this is how I solve, seems totally wrong.
(17.5*7)/10 = x
122.5/10 = x
12.25 = x
x = 12.25
(17.5*7)/10 = x
122.5/10 = x
12.25 = x
x = 12.25

First, you could see it's wrong. Since 7 is less than 10, then 17.5 must be less than x.
