First, you posted the wrong formula. Since there are 60 minutes in an hour, it should be the number times 60.
0.5 * 60 = 30 minutes
2.5 = 2 hours and 30 minutes
2.3 = 2 hours and 20 minutes
I'm sure you can take it from there.
0.5 * 60 = 30 minutes
2.5 = 2 hours and 30 minutes
2.3 = 2 hours and 20 minutes
I'm sure you can take it from there.

How did you get 180?
I made a mistake. 2.3 = 2 hours and 18 minutes.
0.3 * 60 = 18
