Take Log of both sides:
x*Log1.4 = -x*Log(0.5)
x*Log1.4 + x*Log(0.5) = 0
X(Log1.4+Log(0.5)) = 0
X*Log(1.4*0.5) = 0
X*Log(0.7) = 0
X = 0 / Log(0.7) = 0.
