FOOD: each variety of apples cost $1.20/lb at a grocery store. you buy 4lbs of cortland apples and some gala apples for eating. the total cost is $7.20. how many lbs of gala apples did you buy?
i think i got the answer but not sure how to write it in equation.
Total $7.20 - 5.16 = $2.04 difference
4lb cortlad apple @1.29 = 5.16
? gala apples @1.29 = 2.04/1.29 =
1.581395349 lbs of gala bought
im not sure how to write this as equation

so 4lb at 1.20 = 4.80
2lb at 1.20 = 2.40
ttl 7.20
gala apple bought 2lb
(1.2 * 4) +x = 7.20
4.80 + x = 7.20
4.80 -4.80 + x = 7.20 - 4.80
x = 2.40
