So we first start estimating. You can use a number line if you would like but for this question, looking at it I already know the answer.

First,

17/18 rounded is going to a whole. Which is written as 1. (17/18= 1)

then for 3/7, it gets a little tricky. First we look at 3/7. well, it doesn't need to be that complicated if you think about it, 3/7 rounded is going to be 0.

So in that case, we add 1+0=1.

So for number 1 (The question), your answer is going to be 1.
