the sum of two positive integers is 60, and their positive difference is 26. what is the positive difference between the squares of the two integers?

x+y = 60
x-y = 26
add them
2x = 86
x=43
43+y = 60
y = 17

difference between their squares
= 43^2 - 17^2 = 1560
