Can someone please help me with this word problem!?! I know the answer which is 784 feet. But I have no clue how to solve it. Can someone please show how to solve this problem? The word problem is: The melt in Your Mouth Chocolate Factory is a rectangular building. The distance across the front of the store is 98 yards. The distance from the front to the back is one-third of this distance. If the owners paint a sign all the way around the outside of the factory, how many feet will the sign be?

1/3 * 98 = 32.667
P = 2(98) + 2 (32.667
P = 261.334 yards
261.334 * 3 = 784 feet
P = 2(98) + 2 (32.667
P = 261.334 yards
261.334 * 3 = 784 feet

Cutting through the fog of this absurdly worded question ....
Front of store : 98 yds = 294 feet
Side of store : = (1/3)(294) feet = 98 feet
perimeter = 2(294+98) feet or 784 feet
Front of store : 98 yds = 294 feet
Side of store : = (1/3)(294) feet = 98 feet
perimeter = 2(294+98) feet or 784 feet
