A rectanfular piece of property measures 50 feet by 150 feet. the owner decides to surround the property with a fence placed exactly two feet inside of the property lines. How much fencing will be needed ?

Since the new fence is 2' inside the lines on both sides, we need to subtract 4 feet from each dimension.

P = 2(L+W)
2((50-4)+(150-4)) = 384

P = 2L + 2W

P = (2 * 46) + (2 * 146)
