Think about the Pythagorean theorem. The ladder length is the hypotenuse.

Okay.. whats the Pythagorean theorem again?
Answered by drwls
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
c is the hypotenuse and a and b are the perpendicular sides of a right triangle

Okay i think i got it.
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
6^2 + 8^2 = c^2
36 + 64 = c^2
sqrt of 100 = sqrt of c^2
10ft = C

Is that right?
