Can you help me solve this problem by elimination?
4x-2y=16
5x+7y=1

divide the first by 2, then solve for y
y = 2x-8
sub into the second
5x + 7(2x-8) = 1
19x = 57
x = 3
then y = 2(3) - 8 = -2
