Hmmm. If it says rectangular, rather than square, the small tables must have been arranged in a line. SO, if the side of each table is x, then the line of 4 has
length=4x
width=x
perimeter=10x, so x=2
There are four 2x2 tables in a line.
small tables have area 4, perimeter 8.
Now, if the 4 tables are arranged in a square, then the large square has side 2x, perimeter 8x, and x = 2.5
