Suppose you are playing ice hockey in the middle of a totally frictionless frozen pond.How can you move youself to the edge of the pond ?

If it is totally frictionless, you only need to throw the hockey stick to one side and wait for yourself to move slowly to the other side. This will happen by the law of conservation of momentum, and Newton's first law (continues to move in a uniform velocity without external, i.e. friction, forces).

I wonder how you are standing on a totally frictionless surface, much less how you would throw something, or swing a hockey stick.
