a board is 17ft long and a hole is 1 ft futher from 1 end than it is from the other. How far is the hole from each end of the board shortest distance? Choices 6,8,10

Half of 17 = 8 1/2

So the hole must be 8 feet from one end and 9 feet from the other end.
