can someone tell me if i have the answer correct
a. Suppose a market research company finds that at a price of p = $40, they would sell x = 27 tiles each month. If they lower the price to p = $15, then more people would purchase the tile, and they can expect to sell x = 47 tiles in a month’s time. Find the equation of the line for the demand equation. Write your answer in the form p = mx + b. Hint: Write an equation using two points in the form (x,p).
the porints are (x-27,x-47) and (p-40,p-15)
x-27/p40= 27-40/47-15=-20/25= -8
x= -8(x-27)+40
x=-8+59
I only have a few hrs to turn this in thanks

Your first line makes no sense to me. Actually, none of your lines make sense. I have no idea what you were doing.
p=mx+b
first equation:
40=27m+b
second equation:
15=47m+b
subtract equation 2 from 1:
25=-20m
m=-1.25 check that. Then, find b
40=27m+b
40=27(-1.25)+b
b=30-33.75=-3.75
p=(-5/4)x-3.75 check that.
