Numerous sites on the web claim SrS is insoluble in water but I think that is incorrect. I think it is soluble. CaS is soluble, BaS is soluble, SrS should be soluble.
SrS --> Sr^2+ + S^2-
SrS --> Sr^2+ + S^2-
