Looking for exact solutions. I know they are integers, but...is there a decimal solution?
Thanks

y^2 -20 y + 36 = 0
y = [ 20 +/- sqrt(400-144) ]/2
y = [20 +/- sqrt(256) ]/2
y = [ 20 +/- 16 ]/2
= 10 +/- 8
18 or 2
or
(y-2)(y-18) = 0
y = [ 20 +/- sqrt(400-144) ]/2
y = [20 +/- sqrt(256) ]/2
y = [ 20 +/- 16 ]/2
= 10 +/- 8
18 or 2
or
(y-2)(y-18) = 0
