Set it to 0
2x² - 200 = 0

Factor out the 2
2(x² - 100) = 0

Use difference of squares
2(x + 10)(x - 10) = 0

Solve for x
x = -/+ 10

Set the equation to 0 and solve for x.

2x^2 = 200

Divide both sides by 2.

x^2 = 200/2

x^2 = 100

Take square root of both sides.

x = positive 10 and negative 10

Always a positive and negative answer in terms of square roots.
