Are you clear on the meaning of all three of these terms?

yes

I don't think so.
Look at #1. The words in the first set of parentheses are a verb and the rest of its phrase (the whole predicate), and the words in the second set of parentheses is the same structure.
What do you know as the definition for IC?

IC = independent clause = subject & verb and makes sense by itself (may or may not be a complete sentence)
CV = compound verb = two or more verbs in a clause for the subject
CS = compound subject = two of more subjects in a clause for the verb
(Once in a great while, a sentence might have both a CS and a CV in it.)
