In the sentence "Both crown and scepter a staff symbolizing the king's power were made of valuable materials." Would the commas be after the word "scepter" and after the word "power"? I wasn't sure if it needed one after the word "staff" too. I don't think it does but wanted to check. Thanks.

You're right. The only commas needed are after scepter and power.
