Two tiny spheres, one with a charge of -17mc and the other with a charde of +3mc are positioned with the positive charge 14cm above the negative. What is the magnitude and direction of the force on the negative charge?

Use coulombs law to predict the magnitude of the force. Since the charges are opposite, there is an attractive force between them. Since the negative charge is on the bottom, the force on the negative charge is up.
