    Mg ==> Mg^2+ + 2e
Au^+ + e ==> Au
A note:
Chemistry students can't be lazy. It's a fact that mg and au don't mean a thing; I'm guessing you just didn't have the energy to push the caps button. You can't write co when you mean CO or Co.
