2.5E-5 = (x)^2/1.75
So to solve for x i know I have to take the sqrt of both sides but first do I have to move the 1.75 to the left side?

suppose you had
10 = x^2/5
first multiply by 5, then take root. Same here
2.5E-5 * 1.75 = x^2
4.375E-5 = x^2
now, we'd like an even power of 10 so we can take the root:
43.75E-6 = x^2
6.614E-3 = x
naturally, x can be + or - depending on the problem's requirements.

yes. It's 2.5E-5*1.75 = x^2 and solve for x.
