Most US newspapers are pretty unreliable as far as reporting true facts.
The reported material is mostly old "news".
For important information, you have to manually search the paper page by page, there is no Google window.
It is very difficult to archive stories, like who keeps last weeks paper.
Most news reporters are "cubs", low paid folks, who do investigation and research on the telephone, which is very unreliable.
Some papers, ie the Houston Chronicale, or the Dallas Morning News, or the NY Daily news, or the Washington Post, or most papers in Alabama and Mississippi, flavor "news" by injecting political, and cultural bias into all the articles, making truth far from the objects of the articles.
