Sorry...it came through funny.
O3 + H-C=C-C(CH3)2-C(CH3)2-C(CH3)2-CH3 -> CO2 + H2O
All of the numbers above are supposed to be subscript but keep coming out the same size as the letters.
So this is the equation that i am trying to balance. In my question where there the equal sign is, it shows three lines instead of just two..

We CAN make subscript and superscripts but it's difficult to do.
If you are trying to learn how to balance redox equations by doing this one I can tell you that it is/will be most difficult. Frankly, I would just do it by inspection. Sometimes that fails but here it's worth a try. (I have seen redox equations that can be balanced by inspection and they are WRONG.) I check this one out; however, and i's ok.
35 O3 + 3 C12H22 ==> 36CO2 + 33H2O

Thanks so much DrBob222. I'm glad to hear that it was not ALL me on being confused with this one! Seeing the answer balanced by inspection makes total sense now....you are great and now the rest of my assignment doesn't seem so daunting! Thanks again!
