Classify each of the following by the type of solid if forms:

a. LiCl
b. BaCl2
c. BCl3
d. CCl4
e. NCl3
I have four different types of solids to guess from like Metallic solid, ionic solid, molecular solid, covalent network solid and i don't know which goes with what element

Your question isn't clear, mostly because of the answers available. LiCl is an ionic compound as is BaCl2. Both are solids. BCl3 is covalent but a gas, CCl4 is covalent but a liquid. NCl3 is covalent and a liquid. I didn't look any of these compounds up in my text books so check out what I have said.

well all it asks is name the types of solid it forms and those four our the types of solids.
so like LiCl you said it was an ionic compound so it might be ab ionic solid and so on

I said in my response that LiCl and BaCl2 were ionic AND I said they were solids. Those two will be ionic solids. CCl4, NCl3 and BCl3 are covalent.

My best guess is that those three are molecular when they are in the solid state but I'm not poitive of that.

NCl3 is not covalent by the way... i just put it in as my answer and got it wrong.
