5) Write fraction as a percent
7/8
My answer: 0.875=87 1/2%
85 1/2% is correct but you are leaving a fraction in the answer. I think 87.5% is preferred.
6)Write each decmal as a percent
0.008
My answer:8% No, you multiplied by 1000. You should multiply by 100 to obtain 0.8%. To multiply by 100 just move the decimal point to the right two places (that is, the number of zeros in the multiplier.)
7) Write as a decimal
160%
My answer:1.60 Correct. You divided by 100 by moving the decimal point to the left two places.
8)Write as a fraction
52%
My asnwer:5/10 What did you do with the 2? 5.2/10 would be more correct than 5/10, BUT you are still leaving a decimal in the answer. I think 52/100 is preferred.
I made a typo in the first problem. I wrote 85 1/2 and not 87 1/2. But the correct answer still is 87.5%.
I thought I could see a decimal point in #6. Her answer is .8% isn't it?
I read that as a : as in
My answer:8%, which is why I explained how many places to move the decimal and gave the correct answer. It is tough for me to see those small decimal points which is another reason to write it as 0.8% and not just .8%. However, whether the decimal is there or not, the important thing is that Jasmine has the correct answer and knows how to get it.
I see you are right. I didn't see the upper dot (never thought about : Darned 60 years old not quite bad enough to put up with glasses all the time.
