I am studying my pronouns right now for sixth grade, while i was looking over the words,i saw that the word THAT is a pronoun, how can it be a pronoun?

"That" can be a pronoun when it stands for a noun.

Examples:

That is a great idea!

I don't understand that.

It's a pronoun when it's used in place of "which."
