I'll send this to SraJMcGin (aka Mme).
Salut! I'm assuming that you are using the verb "to help" = aider. Note the spelling. "To help" someone to do something is "aidér qq à + infinitive. There is also the reflexive verb: "s'aider de" so note the different prepositions. Prepositions in French can cause difficulty but if you have reached the lesson on verbs that require prepositions, I can make a list for you, if you ask for it.
Now, let's take the example you have above: There is no "personal a" in French, in case you have ever studied Spanish.
Nous aidons (Present Tense) OR aidions (l'Imparfait = a Past Tense) nos parents à faire le ménage.
Please note also the accent marks. If you don't know how to make them with a computer, you need to learn. If I were to tell you how, I would need to know 2 things:
1. Do you have a PC or a Mac?
2. Do you have Windows or not?
Feel free to ask any question and one of the other volunteer teachers will let me know. I no longer come to the Jiskha Homework Board, but that doesn't mean that I won't help you!
