sorry here it is... The 1st part of the trip the canoeist travels 60 miles at a certain speed. On the second part, he travels 18 mi at 5 mi slower. The total time is 3 hours. What was the speed on both parts of the trip??

60/s + 18/(s-5) = 3
s = (31+sqrt(561))/2 = 27.3 mph
