what does it mean to give up? are there situations where that's okay. are there situations where giving up is not possible.

To give up means to stop trying.
Would you give up studying if you got a bad grade?
Would you give up if you were trying to protect a friend from a bully?
Would you give up an argument if you realized you were wrong?
I'm sure you can think of other situations in which you might or might not give up.
