Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt holds the world record for the men's 100 meter dash with a time of 9.58 seconds. If the second runner can continue to accelerate at 1.07 m/s^2 from a standing start, after 9.58 seconds he will travel
(1.07/2)*(9.58)^2 = 49.1 m, and he will be very far behind when Bolt completes the race.
