rearrange things to usual format:
4x + y = 4
x + y = -5
subtract one from the other:
3x = 9
x = 3
substitute that value into either equation:
y = -4(3)+4 = -8
4x + y = 4
x + y = -5
subtract one from the other:
3x = 9
x = 3
substitute that value into either equation:
y = -4(3)+4 = -8
