a large no. of bonobos were found to be normally distributed with a mean of 46 and a variance equal to 9. if each of their scored is increased by 5 points, what percentage of the new scores is less than 50?

New mean = 46 + 5 = 51
Variance is unchanged.

Z = (score-mean)/SD

Variance = SD^2

Find table in the back of your statistics text labeled something like "areas under normal distribution" to find the proportion related to the Z score.
