A rectangualr metal sheet is 32m long, 16m wide and 12mm thick.
Eight circular holes, each of diameter 3m are cut in the sheet, so that none of the holes overlap. Calculate the volume of metal remaining, correct to 3 decimal places (Take pi=3.142)
P.S. Working out please

volume without holes = 32(16)(.012) = 6.144 m^3
each hole = π(1.5)^2 (.012) = .027π
so 8 holes = .216π m^3
remaining volume = 6.144 - .216π = 5.47
( I used π on my calculator, if you got it, why not use it ?)
