your problem with the oil slick is very helpful but all I need is A of the oil slick as a function of the time t. the radius in feet of the spread after t hours is r(t)= 200sqrt t.

since A = pi r^2,
A(t) = pi * (200 * sqrt(t))^2 = 40,000 pi*t
