please help me find error:
f(1) = 1/3 -4/3(1)
=1/3 - 4/3
= - 3/3 = -1 should -1 be +1 or is there no error

I see no error in what you wrote above. However, I don't know what f(x) function you are refering to.

In your original 10:06 AM question,
f(x) = 3x-5
In that case, f(1) = 3-5 = -2
You may have mixed up your f(x) and g(x) functions.
f(x) = 3x-5
