If there are 10 apple and you take away 7. How much do you have? i said 7 but i was told i was wrong

I guess it depends upon who takes the apples, and who "you" is.

The plural of apple is apples.
When counting, one says "How many", not "how much"

Actually, the way the question is worded, the answer is 7. "You" take the seven apples (from a larger collection of apples that are not yours), and you have seven.
