how to figure out:
sec squared x = 1/10

what are you "figuring out" ?
are you solving for x ?

sec^2 x = 1/10
cos^2 x = 10
cosx = ± √10
which is > 1 or < -1

but the cosine of any angle has to be between -1 and +1, so
there is no solution.
