Please help! In triangle RST,segment XY parallels segment RS. If TX=3, XR=TY and YS=6 find XR.

Let XR = TY = x
By similar triangles,
3/(x+3) = x/(x+6)
3(x+6) = x(x+3)
3x + 18 = 3x + x^2
x^2 = 18
x = 3√2
By similar triangles,
3/(x+3) = x/(x+6)
3(x+6) = x(x+3)
3x + 18 = 3x + x^2
x^2 = 18
x = 3√2
