ok this is in my practice book. there are 33 students in the chess club. there are five more boys than girls in the club. write and solve a system of equations to find the number of boys and girls in the chess club?

B+G=33
B-5=G

or
B+G=33
B-G=5

then solve. I would solve by adding the equations, or
2B=38 then solve.

x + x + 5 = 33

2x = 33 - 5

2x = 28

x = 14

Proof:

14 + 19 = 33
